FairFix Terms of Service
Last updated: October 18, 2026. This document is for general information and is not a substitute for legal advice. Have your attorney review it for your situation.
These Terms of Service (“Terms”) govern your use of FairFix (listed as “FairFix: Car Repair Estimate”), the iOS app for auto repair businesses that drafts repair plans and priced quotes with AI and produces PDF quotes, invoices and shareable quote links, offered by m23n. By accessing or using FairFix, you agree to these Terms on behalf of yourself and, where applicable, the business you work for. If you do not agree, do not use the app.
Professional tool, drafts only: FairFix is intended for body and collision shops, mechanical shops, mobile and independent mechanics, dealership service departments and fleet maintenance teams. Repair plans, clarifying questions, line items, prices, notes and suggested wording produced by the app are AI-generated drafts for a qualified professional to review. They are not an inspection, a diagnosis, an insurance appraisal or a binding offer until you, the business, decide to present them to your customer.
1. The service
FairFix lets you photograph or describe a job, review an AI-drafted list of repair operations, answer clarifying questions, set your price location, and generate line items priced with the labour rates, markup and tax you configure. You can edit every line, convert a quote to an invoice, render PDF documents in several templates and publish a quote as a web page at a share link that your customer can view and approve. The app also decodes VINs through the NHTSA vPIC service and can suggest starting labour rates for your area. Results are generated by a third-party AI model from what you submit and from general market knowledge. We may change, suspend or discontinue any feature at any time.
2. Your responsibilities as a business
You are solely responsible for every quote, invoice and document you create or send with FairFix, including the accuracy of operations, labour times, parts, prices, taxes and totals; for reviewing and correcting AI output before you rely on it or show it to a customer; for complying with the estimate, invoice, consumer-protection, tax and licensing rules that apply to your trade and location (for example written-estimate requirements, authorisation before work, disclosure of used or aftermarket parts, and invoice content); and for the terms of any payment link you attach. The AI does not know your shop, your parts suppliers or your local law, and nothing in the app replaces your professional judgement.
You are responsible for the customer information you enter (names, contact details, vehicles and VINs) and for the photos you upload. You confirm that you are entitled to process that information, that you have informed your customers and obtained any consent your local law requires, and that you will delete customer data from the app and revoke share links when you no longer need them. Handling of business and customer data is described in our FairFix Privacy Policy.
3. Share links
A share link publishes a snapshot of a quote at an unguessable web address for up to 90 days. Anyone with the link can view it, so you are responsible for sending it only to the intended customer and for the content it contains. A customer tapping “Approve” on the page records a timestamp as a convenience for you; whether that constitutes a binding authorisation under your local law is for you to determine, and you should keep your own records. We may remove a share link that violates these Terms, and we do not guarantee that share links will be available at any particular time.
4. AI output and third-party data limitations
AI-generated output can be inaccurate, incomplete, out of date or inapplicable to the vehicle, the damage or your market. Book times, parts prices and operations are estimates; hidden damage, parts availability, supplier pricing and vehicle-specific procedures can only be confirmed by inspection and by your own sources. Suggested labour rates are market indications, not advice on what to charge. VIN decoding relies on NHTSA data and may be missing, outdated or wrong for some vehicles. Urgency and safety indications are guidance for your conversation with the customer, not a diagnosis. You must not present AI output to a customer, insurer or authority as an inspection finding without verifying it.
5. App Store, free trial & subscriptions
FairFix is distributed through the Apple App Store, and Apple’s rules and licence terms apply. Access to estimates requires an auto-renewing subscription billed by Apple, which may start with a free trial. Unless cancelled at least 24 hours before the end of the trial or the current period, the subscription converts to or renews at the stated price. You can manage or cancel it in your Apple ID settings; deleting the app does not cancel a subscription. Prices, plans, promotional offers, free-trial availability and included features may change over time; changes do not affect a period you have already paid for. Refunds and billing disputes follow Apple’s policies.
6. Fair use & limits
To keep the service available to everyone, we apply reasonable limits on the number and size of plan, estimate, revision, VIN and share-link requests per installation and per period. We may reduce or suspend access for usage that appears automated, excessive or abusive.
7. Acceptable use
You agree to use FairFix only in compliance with applicable law. You may not upload content that is unlawful, infringing or that contains other people’s personal data without authority; use the app or share links to deceive customers, insurers or anyone else, including by presenting fabricated damage or inflated work; misuse, disrupt, overload, scrape, reverse engineer beyond what law permits, or attempt unauthorised access to the app, our backend, the share-link pages or the AI service; or use the output to train or benchmark competing models.
8. Content and intellectual property
You retain ownership of the photos, descriptions, business details and customer records you submit and grant us a limited licence to process them to provide the service, including hosting the quote snapshots you choose to share, as described in the Privacy Policy. Generated plans, line items and documents are provided to you for use in your business and may be incorporated into the quotes and invoices you issue. The FairFix app, its templates, design, text, illustrations and software are owned by m23n or its licensors and are protected by applicable intellectual property laws.
9. Third-party services
The app relies on OpenAI (AI model), Apple (App Store and speech recognition), NHTSA vPIC (VIN decoding), RevenueCat (subscriptions), Mixpanel (analytics) and Meta (advertising measurement), and on any payment provider whose link you attach. Those services are subject to their providers’ own terms and availability, and we are not responsible for them.
10. Disclaimer of warranties
FAIRFIX AND RELATED SERVICES, INCLUDING ALL REPAIR PLANS, QUESTIONS, LINE ITEMS, PRICES, LABOUR TIMES, SUGGESTED RATES, VIN DATA, DOCUMENTS, SHARE LINKS AND OTHER AI-GENERATED OUTPUT, ARE PROVIDED “AS IS” AND “AS AVAILABLE,” WITHOUT WARRANTY OF ACCURACY, COMPLETENESS, TIMELINESS, AVAILABILITY OR FITNESS FOR ANY PARTICULAR PURPOSE. TO THE MAXIMUM EXTENT PERMITTED BY APPLICABLE LAW, M23N DISCLAIMS ALL WARRANTIES, WHETHER EXPRESS, IMPLIED OR STATUTORY.
11. Limitation of liability
To the maximum extent permitted by law, m23n will not be liable for any indirect, incidental, special, consequential or punitive damages, or loss of profits, business, reputation or data, arising from your use of FairFix, including under-quoted or over-quoted jobs, disputes with customers or insurers, regulatory penalties, unavailable or revoked share links, or vehicle damage or personal injury connected with work quoted through the app. Our total liability for any claim is limited to the amount you paid for the app in the twelve months before the claim.
12. Termination
You may stop using FairFix at any time by deleting the app and cancelling any subscription in your Apple ID settings; revoke any share links you no longer want online before you do. We may suspend or terminate access if you breach these Terms or if we discontinue the service.
