Container Tracker Terms of Service

These Terms of Service (“Terms”) govern your use of Container Tracker, the iOS app for following shipping containers, bills of lading, and booking references, offered by m23n. Container Tracker is under active development; not all features or carriers may be available yet. By accessing or using Container Tracker, you agree to these Terms. If you do not agree, do not use Container Tracker.

Informational use only: Container Tracker aggregates data published by carriers and third-party shipping data providers. It is not affiliated with any carrier, port, or customs authority, and it is not a substitute for the carrier’s official tracking, shipping documents, or your own verification.

1. The service

Container Tracker lets you add container, bill of lading, and booking references, view status events, estimated arrival times, and vessel positions retrieved from third-party sources, and receive notifications when that information changes. Shipping data may be delayed, incomplete, outdated, or inaccurate, and coverage varies by carrier and data source. We do not control the underlying data and may change, suspend, or discontinue support for any carrier or data source at any time.

2. Your identity & trackings

Container Tracker works without an account by assigning your device an anonymous identifier. You are responsible for the references you enter and for keeping your device secure. If your device is lost or reset, we may be unable to recover your trackings. Handling of this data is described in our Container Tracker Privacy Policy.

3. App Store & payments

Container Tracker is distributed through the Apple App Store, and Apple’s applicable rules and license terms apply. In-app purchases and subscriptions, if offered, are billed by Apple. Prices, renewal, cancellation, refunds, and billing disputes follow Apple’s policies; you can manage or cancel subscriptions in your Apple ID settings. Paid features, limits, and pricing may change over time.

4. Fair use & limits

Retrieving shipping data has a cost, and our data sources impose quotas. We may limit the number of active trackings, refresh frequency, or notification volume, and we may throttle or suspend use that we reasonably consider abusive, automated, or intended to resell or redistribute the data.

5. Acceptable use

You agree to use Container Tracker only in compliance with applicable law and only for shipments you are entitled to follow. You may not misuse, disrupt, overload, scrape, reverse engineer beyond what law permits, or attempt unauthorized access to our systems or the data we distribute, and you may not use the app to infringe the rights of carriers or data providers.

6. Third-party content

The app displays content from third parties, including carrier data, aggregator data, and an embedded vessel map provided by VesselFinder. That content is subject to its providers’ own terms and availability, and we are not responsible for it.

7. Disclaimer of warranties

CONTAINER TRACKER AND RELATED SERVICES, INCLUDING ALL SHIPMENT, ETA, AND VESSEL DATA, ARE PROVIDED “AS IS” AND “AS AVAILABLE,” WITHOUT WARRANTY OF ACCURACY, COMPLETENESS, TIMELINESS, OR FITNESS FOR ANY PARTICULAR PURPOSE. TO THE MAXIMUM EXTENT PERMITTED BY APPLICABLE LAW, M23N DISCLAIMS ALL WARRANTIES, WHETHER EXPRESS, IMPLIED, OR STATUTORY.

8. Limitation of liability

To the maximum extent permitted by law, m23n will not be liable for any indirect, incidental, special, consequential, or punitive damages, or loss of profits, business, or data, arising from your use of Container Tracker, including reliance on shipment status, estimated arrival times, vessel positions, or missed or delayed notifications. Do not rely on the app for demurrage, detention, customs, or other time-critical decisions without independent confirmation.

9. Termination

You may stop using Container Tracker at any time by deleting the app. We may suspend or terminate access if you breach these Terms or if we discontinue the service.
